A hard decision, but the right time for this incredible mare to find her own human.

Fairfield Midsummer Eclipse is a 10yo 14.3hh (aprox) clydie, qh, TB cross who is worth her weight in her signature gold.

We have owned Indianna since she was just 3 years old. In her time with us she has attended many PC rallies with students, shows and competitions with junior riders, ranked up hundreds of hours of trail and road riding, and been a fundamental member of our lesson horse team taking care of absolute raw beginner through to more experienced riders.

Most recently she enjoyed being on lease to a close friend who was taking her bush bashing through bush and rain forest, and was conditioned easily up to 20k + rides.

The only reason for this decision is that she thoroughly enjoyed being one person's horse during this time, and she is less enthusiastic about lessons these days even after her break and lease. We love her too much to ask her to come back to a job that she no longer loves, and would hate to see her sour.

In between her work as a school horse Indi has also developed a good education on the flat and over jumps. She has shown as a hunter at agricultural shows, holding her frame well for a rider who knows how to ask, and works responsively off the seat.

For a little insight into Indianna – at her first Agricultural show which was very busy, we had a junior riding student on Indi. At one point of the day they disappeared to go and visit friends, and the rider reappeared on Indi, slushie in one hand, phone in the other hand, walking calmly across the warmup ring around a couple of horses being rather explosive.

Does know her leg yields and extended trot, would just need polishing again as it's been some time as a trail pony since she's tapped into these skills.

She is a bold and clean jumper, schooling over grade 2 cross country jumps and completing freshmans courses of up to 95cm. She has ever capacity to go higher when fit and in the condition for it, but it has never been her focus.

She is soft to ride in all phases in either a plain snaffle or sidepull bitless bridle.

We are looking for an intermediate junior or adult upwards rider for her as she likes a rider with independent seat and hands.

She is a GOOD doer, is barefoot or in scoot boots, and is not a marey type of mare.

Indis faults? She can be tricky to catch occasionally, but this is nothing a bucket cannot fix. She has been mildly head shy her whole life, so needs patience to bridle and handle around her face but this is really nothing major. She will get going on a ride out alone, particularly when she is in work, but will call out if she is the one left completely alone behind, she does get over it though.

Her biggest fault? She loves to be a pig in mud! So your lovely palomino will often resemble a bay when it rains 😉

This has been a difficult decision for us as we are fully aware we may never have one this good again.

She is available at $15,000 to reflect the current market, and current level of work (very light work). This will increase if she comes back into full work with us. Located Beeac (Colac) Vic.
