Here at Fairfield we are proud to offer a comprehensive lesson program to suit students of all ages, confidence levels, and abilities. Including those who cannot or do not wish to ride.

We believe that everyone should be able to experience the joys of horses in a way that is inclusive, thorough, and tailored just for them.

Our lesson program comes with a difference. Fairfield Students have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of horsemanship, not just riding!

We have a range of Lesson Options, and are happy to tailor packages to suit your needs.

Skills covered in our programs include learning about tacking up, leading, grooming, caring for, and understanding their ponies.

Students who attend regular lessons also have the opportunity to celebrate their skills and learning through our Badge Program

Our experienced team of lesson horses are first and foremost beloved members of our own family. You can Meet Our Horses. They are educated in a range of disciplines, allowing them to be patient teachers and really help their students move toward and meet their individual horsemanship goals. Limited lessons are also available for riders who own their own horses.

Horses teach us so many things that extend beyond lessons, such as problem solving, critical thinking, overcoming fears, and self-reflection. Whether just wanting to spend some time with a horsey friend, or having goals of competing the Fairfield team can help.

What To Expect

Expect fun in the great outdoors with our dogs, horses (of course!), other animals, and our instructors.

Students and visitors will learn about safety around horses on the ground, and how to prepare their pony to start their lesson. Riders will be matched with a horse that best suits their size, and ability level. As often as possible we keep students matched to the same horse for as long as possible, so they can really become a team.

In both group and private lessons, students will have one on one time with an instructor to focus on their skills, knowledge, and work toward their goals.

Riding Lessons are taken outdoors on our property, in and around our grass arena and paddocks. So students and visitors should be sure to come prepared for hanging out on the farm!

What To Wear

All visitors MUST wear closed toed shoes, and should dress with the weather in mind. Horse riding is an outdoor activity and visitors are likely to come into contact with horse hair, mud, dirt, etc so dress in clothes appropriate for a day on the farm! Riders will also need to wear their own helmet (or hire a  helmet), boots, and appropriate clothing to participate in riding lessons.

Please also have a read of our Terms and Policies page for further information.
